Last chance for lifetime access to employbl

For the next 24 hours can secure lifetime access to the employbl job data platform

Hi ,

About two months ago I wrote about updates to employbl where we were offering lifetime access to all employbl functionality for a flat price of $149 using the coupon code EARLYADOPTER.

Employbl is a data platform built for job seekers with tens of thousands of American tech companies, startups, job listings, funding rounds and more.

We’re different from other platforms in that we’re candidate funded, don’t have ads and are building data tools candidates can’t get anywhere else.

The offer for lifetime access to the employbl platform, including access to all new upcoming features is available for 24 more hours only.

For the next 24 hours can secure lifetime access to employbl by clicking the button below:

After 24 hours we’ll be deploying a code update switching over the site to launch monthly subscription billing and the option to buy the lifetime plan will go away.

The cost of one year at the monthly rate will be double the cost of the currently available lifetime rate so now’s the time to act 🙂

Why are you changing from lifetime pricing to a monthly subscription?

We’re changing employbl from lifetime pricing to a subscription billed product for a few reasons:

  • First the lifetime EARLYADOPTER deal was always meant to be a limited time offer to validate that people are indeed open to paying money for best in class job hunting and career growth software. Fortunately, we did have a positive response from a crew of early adopters that proved there’s an appetite for what we’re building 📈

  • Second, I got some feedback from prospective users that the $149 lifetime price point was too high, especially while searching for a job. Though they recognized the value of the platform and conceded they’d be using employbl throughout their careers, not just in this current job hunt, they were more interested in a lower price point with the freedom to cancel if need be.

  • Third, employbl has fixed monthly costs like our AWS, Vercel and Google Workspace bills that are best covered by recurring revenue for the usage incurred.

What do I get today with lifetime access to employbl?

Though it’s still early days for employbl there’s a lot of cool functionality for your job search and career advancement that you can access today.

  • Curated industry filters - Using a combination of manual curation and machine learning we’ve categorized thousands of companies by industry. For example find companies and jobs in Climate, AI, or SaaS.

  • Find companies by investment stage - Using other job platforms it can be impossible or incomplete to filter by investment stage. We’ve built a comprehensive database of Venture Capital firms and funding rounds so you can easily find jobs or companies at various investment stages like Pre Seed, Seed, Series A and so on.

  • Find companies near you with map view - While most of the tech industry shifted to full remote during the pandemic that appears to be changing. Many companies are now requiring multiple days per week in office. Keep your commute to a minimum and find cool tech companies near you using map view.

Those are some of the highlights but there’s more to explore like our original research, job search filters and custom candidate profiles.

What are you building next?

Thanks so much for asking 😉 Soon after switching over to subscription billing we’re going to be launching some new features like…

  • Job Application Tracker - apply to jobs and keep track of where you stand in your interview processes all in one place. This is born out of the process I used while job hunting that got me $40k raise and ultimately a job at Apple.

  • Original research on Climate Tech and AI - we’ve already shared our first post about how employbl members can explore the climate tech landscape and climate jobs using our filters. We’ll be publishing more about the state of climate tech and venturing into covering the thousands of AI companies on the American tech scene today.

  • AI analysis of resumes and job listings - we’re going to be expanding the number of jobs we pull in to more Applicant Tracking System (ATS) providers and extracting insights from job listings using AI.

Why are you building employbl?

Employbl grew out of frustration with existing tools. I remember being shocked when looking for a job after college that I was pretty much stuck applying to whatever company happened to be advertising or made it to the top of the search results.

I wanted a tool to discover companies and jobs on my own terms. It started off as a spreadsheet of tech companies in San Francisco, which I turned into a map, which got featured on the front page of HackerNews, which ultimately grew into the project you see today.

Investors and financiers have extremely expensive data tools to discover companies with high upside and all they have to do is write a check and walk away. If you’re going to be working at a company day in and day out you should have high quality tools at your disposal to find companies working on problems you care about, using tech you like, in a location that makes sense for you.

That’s all for now
