improvements to employbl and free trial available

We've improved the job search, added new companies and launched a job application tracker

Hi ,

Last month I wrote about how we’re switching employbl from lifetime pricing to monthly pricing. I outlined a few reasons why we decided to make the change like a lower barrier to entry, the lifetime rate being a promotion and the importance of covering fixed monthly expenses for the site. The lifetime rate has gone away now and we’ve switched to a pay as you go plan!

You can sign up today and get a free 7 day free trial to play around with employbl and find job opportunities here:

What has been really cool to see is people from all different walks of life signing up and using employbl for their own ends. It goes to show that people are hungry for better tools and clean access to information compared to what’s currently available.

I’ve spoken to software engineers like myself, engineering leaders, partnership managers, sales people, real estate professionals and recruiters.

Each person or group I’ve spoken to has mad different requests and things they’ve liked about the tool. Here’s some of the positive feedback I’ve gotten from folks out in the wild:

  • “Oh I didn’t see that you can filter by tech stack that’s really cool” - Software Engineer with over a decade of experience looking for a new job

  • “I like that I can see all the Y Combinator companies. Other sites don’t have that” - MBA looking for their next role in startup operations

  • “I use the HQ Location + Company Stage filter the most” - Recruiter at a high growth startup looking for companies to poach from 🤫

Over the past two weeks since launching the free trial option I’ve really enjoyed these calls with early adopters. Not everything was perfect (nor will it ever be) but I was able to make some improvements to the site:

  • First is we launched the job application tracker which I heard from people would be helpful for them in managing their job hunt. Keeping track of which companies I applied to and where I stood in each process really helped me through my periods of unemployment. Excited to have this functionality available through employbl 🙂

  • Improved the job search page. The job search page along with the company search dashboards are the workhorses of the site. Still there were some pretty important updates we needed to have:

    • Display count of results

    • Save the job from the job search page

    • Better display data about the company and when the job was last updated by the recruiting team

Most recent iteration of the job search page featuring saving jobs, count of results and better info about the company and job lsiting from the main page.

This isn’t all for the job search page though. I’ve heard from people that being able to filter for remote jobs, seeing salary information and filtering by seniority level were all really important so that’s what we’ll be working on next.

  • The last improvement to the site over the past couple weeks we’ve shipped out is adding 985 more companies to the database. Having detailed information about American tech startups is our bread and butter and new startups are being formed and new funding rounds announced all the time so it’s definitely something I, with an army of robots try to keep on top of 😉

Over the past two weeks we’ve added:

    • 617 Software Companies

    • 421 Seed stage companies

    • 192 Artificial Intelligence (AI) companies

    • 152 Series A companies

    • 44 companies backed by Y Combinator

To see all of these companies head over to the company search dashboard and check out the various filters!

Those are all the recent updates! Feel free to start a free trial today. Once you sign up I’ll reach out directly by email or linkedin and we can chat about what you’d like to use employbl for and what we can do better on.

Have a great rest of your week. If you have any questions or comments smash that reply button!
